Fowler loco

Fowler 0-6-0DH (1962)

  • Weight in working order 35tons approx
  • Power unit Rolls-Royce C6TFL coupled to Twin Disc torque converter.

  • Final drive SCG RF11 Forward/reverse geatbox mounted on rear jackshaft, thence by side rods

Originally fitted with an obsolete Leyland engine, this locomotive is being repowered to Rolls-Royce 12 litre turbo-charged and provided with improvements to engine and transmission cooling arrangements.

As seen in the photo, the loco had only a single through pipe, but will receive either single or twin pipe air braking with additional air compressor capacity, or with belt-driven exhauster and 2" vac line and control valves to suit heritage applications.

Fowlers built a simple, rugged locomotive and this will be a good, reliable locomotive for any industrial or heritage railway on completion.
